Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Responsive UA Section Navigation Improvements

UA responsive section navigation have few limitations highlighted by business.

Scenario: During the section navigation in Responsive UA, there could be 2 scenarios where a section could be disabled :

a. It is too early to answer because it may depend on previous sections.

b. It is no longer applicable because of a condition that has been triggered. This may be due to an answer in a previous section, or some other reason that is not related to a specific previous answer but has been triggered during the script execution, e.g. via a IEG callout.

Issue:

  1. Currently the application displays the same alert message ('Complete the previous sections first') and section label (Cannot Start) for both these scenarios. Same message and label is not valid for both these scenarios and currently application does not provide a handle to provide different message /labels for these two different states. Hence, it is confusing to the user.
Local fix was recommended by PD to change to a long message that reflects both the scenarios but it is not ideal from usability standpoint. Label still has the issue as a common word/long wordings is not ideal for sections.

  2. Business has highlighted that currently section navigation does not direct the User to an appropriate set of question, that they need to complete in-order to re-activate the section. "Section Navigation in its current form, when a Section is not needed, mis-informs the user with an incorrect banner message, and also does not direct the User to an appropriate set of question, that they need to complete .. to re-activate the section."

These are ideas for addressing the issue highlighted when user clicks on disabled sections that fall into the two different categories. There could be other design approaches to address this as well. MSD is keen to offer support on design discussions related to this enhancement for section navigation. As this would enable MSD to release the section navigation feature for users in production.

    Hi Nimesh,

We have reviewed your enhancement suggestion.

Based on the information provided, our understanding of your request is as follows:

    • There are two reasons why a user might be blocked from completing an application section in Responsive UA (Citizen Engagement): 1) it is too early to fill out the section and 2) the section is disabled based on the answer to a previous question.

    • With the current application section navigation functionality and UI, it is unclear why a user might be blocked from completing certain sections in the application and it doesn't give a reason that corresponds to the two scenarios listed above.

Improving the citizen experience and productivity is aligned with our current multi-year strategy for our product, therefore we have accepted your suggestion as a consideration for a future release. Please note that not all items accepted for further consideration will make it into a release. As plans are confirmed, you will be notified when a specific release includes this enhancement.

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are committed to involving our users in building our product roadmap and appreciate your suggestions.

    Regards,

Drake Broussard, SPM Product Management Team
