Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Disabling selected navigation button on click- User Home Page- Left Side Navigation Panel

We would like to prevent users submitting multiple identical requests to the server by clicking on a single left hand navigation menu element multiple times while the initial request is being processed.

This is an issue for us as some of our data is retrieved from external systems, which can be slow.

At the moment, this is what happens.

User clicks on a left hand navigation menu element - say the application button (see attached screenshot).
A UIM is accessed with a display phase server interface. The facade method called by the server interface takes a long time (several seconds) to load.
Users become impatient with the performance of the system, and click on the applications button again.
Another request is sent to the server via the display phase server interface.
Repeats.

Ideally, the following would occur:
User clicks on a left hand navigation menu element - say the application button (see attached screenshot).
A UIM is accessed with a display phase server interface.
The applications button is disabled.
An animated ‘page is loading' image is displayed (ideally this would be optional and could be configured to display on individual UIMs). This is similar to what happens in the IEG player at the moment.
The facade method called by the server interface takes a long time (several seconds) to load.
When the method called by the server interface completes, the animated ‘page loading' image is taken down and the application button is re-enabled.

    Hi Aeshu,

We are happy to inform you that your enhancement has been delivered in the new release of IBM Cúram Social Program Management, version 7.0.0.0, that was released yesterday.

The new version of the product will provide visual feedback during application processing.

A progress indicator has been added to the application to signal to a user that the system has acknowledged an action and is currently busy. If the loading of content in any panel or modal dialog in the application takes longer than 2 seconds, a progress spinner will now appear.

The indicator is configurable using two properties in the ApplicationConfiguration.properties file:
curam.progress.widget.enabled: This property toggles the feature on/off. Default: true.
curam.progress.widget.threshold: This property specifies in milliseconds, the time offset before an indicator is displayed on the screen. Default: 2000 (2 seconds).

We hope that this addition to the product will meet your requirements sufficiently.

I will now close this ticket as delivered.

Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.

    Hi Aeshu,

Thank you for your enhancement request. We require some further analysis to determine whether or not this enhancement can be considered in a future release. I will provide another response when our investigation is complete.

To help us with this analysis, would you mind re-sending the screenshot you mention in your request as it does not seem to be attached.

    Thank you,
