Support multiple bank accounts for different benefits (PDC)

SG supports multiple benefits (6 so far and Counting )and the bank details are currently stored at the Person level under OOTB Bank Evidence.

Till now we have progressed with a rule that only one bank account would be supported per primary client and all their benefits would be paid into that bank account .We have now got a business need where clients are expecting their benefits to be paid into multiple bank accounts . (E.g. one-off grants to Bank
account A and recurring benefits to Bank account B.)

Current implementation in SPM

As per the OOTB SPM behaviour , the bank
account against the Primary client is linked as the primary nominee on the Product delivery by default on application authorisation . As there can be
only one preferred/primary bank account against a primary client , we are in a way forced to have only one bank account per primary client

The ask ..
Is there any feature available in SPM to have multiple
preferred bank accounts at a person level and link them appropriately whenever a specific product delivery is created to administer benefit

    Hi Jasper,

We have reviewed your enhancement suggestion. Based on the information provided, our understanding of your request is as follows:
    * Support the ability for clients to specific different bank accounts on different benefit applications so EFT payments can be paid into a specified client bank account

The theme is aligned with our current multi-year strategy for our product and we have accepted your suggestion as a consideration for a future release. We may add this to the product directly or alternatively add capabilities for the customer to achieve this on-site. For example, we may open up the area where we currently default bank account to the client preferred bank account and introduce a hook point here, which would allow projects to change this processing to instead select the bank account as specified on the application.

Not all items under consideration will make it into a release. As plans are confirmed, you will be notified when a specific release includes this enhancement.
Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are committed to involving our users in building our product roadmap and appreciate your suggestions.

    Regards,
Shane McFadden, SPM Offering Management team

Thanks , and apologies for the delay in getting back.

As you explained , a caseworker can intervene manually at PDC level to cater for multiple bank account .
Our ask here is to see whether there is an automated way available to deal with multiple bank accounts for a claimant .

Let us assume this below scenario.

A Claimant applies for two benefits (Benefit 1 and Benefit 2) and want the two benefits to be paid into different bank accounts .

    1. In Benefit application 1, Bank account 1 was provided
    2. In Benefit application 2, Bank account 2 was provided
    3. Both these bank accounts are now available at the person level
    4. Assume the latest bank account received is marked as preferred (Bank account 2)
    5. Benefit A applications gets authorised and the PDC created has Bank account 2 linked as it is preferred
    6. Benefit B applications gets authorised and the PDC created has Bank account 2 linked as it is preferred

Is there any way we could link the corresponding bank accounts (1&2) linked to application (A & B) to their respective PDC's automatically ?

    Hi Jasper,

Multiple bank accounts can be created against a person, therefore a person can have multiple concurrent active bank accounts registered with the agency, only one of these can be specified as the preferred at any given point in time although over time the preferred bank account can be changed.
On creating a product delivery case, the primary client by default becomes the primary nominee and where their delivery pattern is by EFT and they have multiple bank accounts, a validation exists to ensure that a bank account has been selected for use on the case. Using the "Change Bank Account" feature within the Nominee functionality, this bank account can be changed to a different active bank account registered for this person/nominee at any stage during the lifetime of the benefit. Where this person is also on another benefit and the nominee to be paid by EFT, this benefit can select a different bank account to use, it has no dependency on the bank account used on the first benefit (product delivery case).

Therefore I think these capabilities support the requirements outlined here. If however there is something you feel we have overlooked, please let us know.

    Thank you,
