Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Introduce new Task Statuses

In addition to the OOTB Open, Deferred and Closed task statuses, ESDC would like to introduce two new task statuses -

Cancelled - If a task was created in error and just closed, it must be be easily differentiated from the work that is truly completed and then closed.

On Hold - ESDC would like to introduce a new functionality 'Bring Forward'. When working on the task, if the user determines that this task must be pended until a future date (e.g. client out of country), they assign it a bring-forward date and push it back to the queue. One of the differentiating factor between OOTB Defer and ESDC Bring-Forward is that if task that is brought-forward, it can be worked on by anyone once assigned (when BF date is reached). Whereas, a defer task is not available to anyone else other than the user who marked it deferred.

Customer Name ESDC, Ottawa
Market Segment WH Government
Type of Request Customer Requirement
Market Opportunity

Organizations that do not use case ownership and instead the work is assigned to any available user within organization, the ability to set bring-forward provides better experience to client. E.g. What if the user who deferred is on leave and the task is unattended for couple of days. ESDC backlog is massive for constant monitoring.

Organization must be able to differentiate between cancelled v/s closed tasks to produce better reports.

Usage frequency + #/type of users impacted

7000+ users

CURAM:Workarounds + Proposed Solution

ESDC has extended the task status code table (restricted) to introduce On Hold status, however it's not working as desired to due to downstream impacts.

ESDC has introduced a new Task Change Type to capture the reason at closure 'e.g. Opened in Error' , however user experience isn't appropriate due to the additional clicks.
