  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Improved flitering for dropdown fields in IEG

v8.0.1 makes use of the Carbon dropdowns in SPM to improve the usability to help caseworkers to quickly find and select options. Options in the dropdown are filtered to show all options that contain the typed input, based on the contains filter method. Dropdowns in v7 were filtered based on 'Starts with'.

IEG was not moved to Carbon so the dropdown fields behave as they did in v7, with filtering based on 'Starts with'. This has introduced a behaviour decrepancy in SPM as caseworkers experience different dropdown filtering behaviour depending on which component of SPM they are using. Caseworkers in the Scottish Government who use IEG regularly for Decision Assist, often struggle to match options that display in certain dropdown fields (e.g. Types of Disabilities) because they may not know how the disability is spelt (e.g. Pneumonia (starts with a silent 'P')).

This enhancement request is for dropdown fields in IEG to filter all options based on the caseworkers typed input. This change will also align IEG dropdown fields to behave in the same manner as the rest of SPM.

    Hi Colin,

We are pleased to inform you that your enhancement request has been delivered in the new release of Cúram version 8.1.1.0 on 8th Dec 2023.

The dropdown sort and filter mechanism has been enhanced to match and present content that contains or starts with a particular character.

This feature improves the sort and filter in the dropdown so the user can select an option with fewer keystrokes.

The filtered dropdown options are sorted and displayed in the following order:

    * First, dropdown options that start with the characters that are entered are displayed, for example, entering 'i' returns Iceland.

    * Then, for options that contain more than one word, options that contain a word that starts with the entered characters are displayed, for example, entering ‘I’ returns Cayman Island.

    * Then, the remaining options that contain the entered characters are displayed, for example, entering 'i' returns Albania.

This enhancement applies to dropdowns in Intelligent Evidence Gathering (IEG) and as the same was previously delivered in 8.1.0.0 for drop-down in UIM pages, this now provides consistent dropdown behaviour for caseworkers across all of Cúram application.
