Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

    Hi Bijesh,

We are happy to inform you that your enhancement request will be delivered in the new release of IBM Cúram Social Program Management, version 7.0.9.0.

IBM Cúram Social Program Management has now certified the usage of the Oracle 19c (12.2.0.3) database. Oracle Database 19c is the Long Term Support Release or 'Terminal Patch Set' for the Oracle Database 12.2 Release.
This means that for the IBM Cúram Social Program Management 7.0.9.0 release, the following Oracle versions are supported:
    • Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1)
    • Oracle Database 12c Release 2 (12.2)
    • Oracle Database 19c (12.2.0.3)

We hope that this addition to the product will meet your requirements sufficiently.

I will now close this ticket as delivered.

Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.
Shane McFadden, Cúram SPM Product Management team

    Hi Bijesh,
Please find the following answers to recent confirmation questions asked.

1 . Yes customers can go ahead and use Oracle DB version 19c for SPM version 7.0.8 and IBM SPM will continue to offer support to application-related Issues/Defects (if any) happen to surface because of usage of Oracle 19c.

    2. There will be no difference in the support offered by IBM SPM regarding Oracle 19c between
    a. Current position ('already supported by virtue of support to 12.2 line') and
    b. End of the year when IBM SPM is formally planning to certify 19c.

    Best Regards,

Given the responses provided here, could you please confirm the following
1 . Customers can go ahead and use Oracle DB version 19c for SPM version 7.0.8 assuming IBM will offer support to application related Issues/Defects (if any) happen to surface because of usage of Oracle 19C?
    2. Will there be any difference in support offered by PD regarding Oracle 19c support between
    a. Current position (' already supported by virtue of support to 12.2 line') and

    Hi Bijesh,
We have further information on your request to share as follows.
SPM already supports 19c as it's effectively a 4th digit release of 12.2, and we introduced support for 12.2 in 7.0.3.
Oracle changed their versioning last year, which can be confusing. If they had kept their previous versioning, 19c would have been called 12.2.0.3.
We are planning to certify SPM against Oracle Database 19c in our end of year release (7.0.9) - meaning we'll run a series of tests against the OOTB SPM running on Oracle Database 19c to confirm we see no problems.
It's worth noting as well, based on information available to us, Oracle support for the latest Oracle Database applies to their 12.2 line, and that support for 12.2 goes to 2026. See https://www.oracle.com/us/assets/lifetime-support-technology-069183.pdf, page 4.
    Best Regards,

    Hi Bijesh,

We would like to clarify that we will most likely move to Oracle 19C directly (and skip 18C) as Oracle 19C is the new Long Term Support (LTS) release for the 12.2 version of the database.

Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.
