Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Capability to provide UIM dashboards with a lot of information

UIM provides developers with a selection of different instruments like FIELD, LIST etc. to represent data. These instruments are then converted into HTML elements and applied css to get a consisted look and feel accross the application. This styling may be suited to enter and/or display small amounts of data for a given client, but not really well suited to display condensed information in limited screen real estate.

Capability should be built into Curam to UIM dashboards to present big amount of information without forcing users to scroll or navigate to next/previous pages etc.

    Hi Gokhan,
We are pleased to inform you that your enhancement request has been delivered in the new release of IBM Social Program Management, version 8.0.1.

A new open-source repository on GitHub provides a JavaScript development environment. Developers can extend UIM by using the latest JavaScript user interface front-end tools and libraries.
Social Program Management developers can now:
    • Use a lightweight JavaScript development environment that complements the existing web client development environment.
    • Develop complex views with the latest front-end tools and libraries, and integrate them into their Social Program Management web client.
    • Develop front-end content quickly and iteratively. JavaScript developers can view their changes without a client build.
    • Use GraphQL and Apollo Client to configure complex data queries.
    • Build robust front-end content through easier test automation.

For more information about this new capability, see the following section in the What's New Guide: Introducing the ability to extend UIM by using Carbon, React, GraphQL, and Apollo Client

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are now closing this request as delivered.

    Regards,
Shane McFadden, SPM Offering Management team

    Hi Gokhan,

We have reviewed your enhancement suggestion. Based on the information provided, our understanding of your request is as follows:
The need is to show more condensed information in a smaller screen area when there are multiple clusters and lists on the page, thereby reducing the need for users to scroll or navigate to other pages for this information.

The theme is aligned with our current multi-year strategy for our product and we have accepted your suggestion as a consideration for a future release. Our roadmap focus on Caseworker Experience will allow us to explore topics such as this one, with sponsor user input. Not all items under consideration will make it into a release. As plans are confirmed, you will be notified when a specific release includes this enhancement.

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are committed to involving our users in building our product roadmap and appreciate your suggestions.

    Regards,
Shane McFadden, SPM Offering Management team

    Hi Shane,

Hardship Summary 1 and 2 screenshots from the first iteration of a proof of concept effort. These screens show the monthly breakdown of a particular benefit applications and payments for a given client. This data is to be presented to our case workers who create and assess these applications based on input applicant provides.
The intention here is to provide case workers with a view of historical application data for a client in a quick and efficient way. This would benefit both case workers and clients for a number of reasons:
    - Case workers can identify high need clients - attend to them accordingly.
    - Case workers can identify application/applicant/payments/needs patterns over time and make informed decisions or take actions.

Currently, we have simple history lists for these applications/payments in our application. Case workers must navigate through applications and payments manually and this takes a long time, i.e. sometimes up to half a day's work.
So, we are still at exploration stage with this requirements. Attached Real H Summary.xlsx document contains a number of proposed screens if you'd like to take a look.

As a second example, I am also attaching our Online Application Summary page screenshots(it is a single long page - OnlineApplicationSummary 1, 2 and 3) which is another screen we currently have in our application.
This page displays detailed information about our online applications. It consists of multiple clusters and lists. Current styling adds default spacing/padding so case worker must scroll up/down a lot to reach information.

Our need here is to show more condensed information in a smaller screen area when there are multiple clusters and lists on the page.
Design wise, we understand it should be applicable for all Curam users.
Maybe something along the line of providing an attribute in clusters, lists and any other applicable widgets to specify that they are for displaying summary information, i.e. less spacing/padding, smaller fonts etc.
So that scrolling can be minimised. This would be required for text based data but with the ability to include graphs/charts etc. for future proofing I suppose.

    Regards,
    Gokhan

I could not attach OnlineApplicationSummary3.PNG and Real H Summary.xlsx files as I am only allowed to attach 4 documents in a ticket. Please let me know how I can share them with you if you'd like to see those.

    Hi Gokhan,

In order to evaluate your request, we require that you provide more detail so that we can fully understand your requirements.

We would like to explore the needs raised in this enhancement request further as we feel there are a few separate topics raised here. One of the things mentioned is the white space and padding resulting in scrolling to get the information. This is a general point in relation to the current style of presenting lists and this is something that we have heard from customers previously, so we are aware of this.

Separately there are some examples given of what you would like to achieve and it is these we are not fully clear on. Hardship Summary 1 and 2 screenshots attached appear to be presenting monthly statistics. So we'd like to understand better who is the user who needs or consumes this data and what do they need this data for? It looks like it may be more suitable for reporting information but if we understand the user and their needs better, it might help.
Also, do you have any presentation style in mind here? I understand the screenshots given are using the technology that is available to you at present and therefore is presented here using current list style but if you were free to pick the format/style that you think best suits the user needs/requirements, do you have ideas on how you would like to see this data presented?

I think these answers will help us better understand if these are suitable for inclusion in the product.

    Thank you,
Shane McFadden, Cúram SPM Product Management team
