  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Improve the build and deploy times

One of the biggest challenges we are facing in our project is the amount of time it takes to build and deploy. It takes at minimum about 3 hours for us to build the codebase and another 3 hours to deploy. 6 hours to get a feedback on the code is very unreasonable. Below is what we are expecting from this RFE.

1. Decrease the build and deploy times significantly
2. Provides means and documentation on hot deploying certain code
3. Provide ability to just build specific components

    Hi Chandan,

    We are looking into your request and have some questions that we hope you can provide answers to to help us with our investigation.

    It would be very helpful for us if you could break down the exact targets and order you are using here to execute this process?
    We would also like to know if it is taking this long just to build your custom component?
    i.e.
    Build the codebase = targets invoked and order of invocation (does this involve the running of any tests etc. in this cycle)?
    Deploy the application = targets invoked and order of invocation.

    We also need to know if you have customized any of the targets from what is delivered OOTB in the product?

    If we do not receive this information within 30 days, this request will be closed.

    Hi Chandan,

    We acknowledge that this enhancement request has been accepted for consideration. It may not be delivered within the release currently under development and we have no short term plans to provide this enhancement. However, the theme is aligned with our current multi-year strategy and will be considered for a future release.

    IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting.

    IBM will update this request in the future.
