Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Require UIM expandable list toggles to take a boolean in order to have a toggle open when the page loads

Problem Description:
Customers have come across some situations in their customization where they would like to link to a tab and have one or more of the expandable list toggles on that tab be already open.

Customer use case:
For example, before we upgraded to Cram 6.0, we added a link on the Integrated Case home page that linked to the currently active placement for a child. In 5.2, this link would take the user directly to the placement page for that placement. In 6.0, a specific placement is not directly accessible from the interface. A user needs to click on the Placements tab for an ongoing case and then flip open a couple of flippers or toggles to get at the specific placement information. This means that the placement UIM is not listed in any of the UI configuration files (.nav etc). Thus in 6.0 if you link directly to the placement UIM, it simply replaces the tab you are currently on with the contents of the placement page. This is not desirable for several reasons. First, it can be confusing for the user who is now looking at a tab labelled "Case Home" but is seeing placement information. Also, the list page for the placement record contains many of the links (like new, edit, etc, not the view page in 6.0. So while the user can now see the placement, they do not get some of the links that they might need.

Our current solution is to have the links refer to a new UIM in a modal dialog that contains the extra links etc that we need along with the placement information. This resolves both the tab replacement issue and the missing links issue but it is not an ideal solution. It shows the placement but does not show it in the context of the removal or any of the the other information that would be available in the tab in which it would normally be viewed.

This is one of the nice features of the 6.0 interface and it's a shame to lose it in this way. Ideally, we would like the link to simply open the placements tab with the flippers or toggles already open to show the placement that was selected.
