1. Login as caseworker
2. Create Third-party deductions with fixed deduction amount.
3. Create Third-party deductions with variable deduction rate.
4. Add new nominee and assign the benefit components.
The issue is that CaseNomineeID is updated only for variable deductions automatically but not for the fixed deductions. An informational message will be displayed by OOTB on the screen "The following deduction(s) exist for the original nominee %Case Nominee Name%. The deduction(s) will only be processed if the nominee on each deduction is modified: %Deduction Name%."
Because of this issue, the worker has to manually select and assign the new nominee in deductions screen using the edit option. Business expects this assignment to be done automatically as variable deductions.

Hi Manjuna,
We have reviewed your enhancement suggestion.
Based on the information provided, our understanding of your request is to automatically update the Nominee for fixed deductions setup on a case, similar to how variable deductions works.
We wanted to provide some insights into why fixed deductions have not been automated, in the way variable deductions have. The support case on this topic already clarified differences between variable and fixed deductions that influence the automation; variable can be against a component in general, meaning regardless of who that is paid to, whereas fixed are from a specific nominee’s payment.
The scenario that best explains the rationale why fixed deductions are automated, is a scenario such as a pension for an elderly person. Initially their child is the nominee as they are receiving their benefit and managing their bills and they have setup a deduction to pay electricity bill. Later the elderly person moves into a care home, and the care home becomes a nominee on the case. At this point the deduction set up to pay the electricity bill needs to be reviewed; perhaps this bill cease when they move into the care home, or if it must continue then it may need to be confirmed whether the deduction should comes from the payment to the care home. There is conscious decision required here, so the system couldn't assume one behaviour is suitable. Hence the current approach informs the caseworker what deductions are setup against the payment to the nominee. Therefore the caseworker knows to review and decide if these deductions are suitable for the payment to the new nominee.
With this in mind, we do not plan to make the suggested change. If you feel there is more information or different scenarios that alter this in any way, please respond within 7 days with clarification or otherwise we will close this request.
