The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Hi Michael,
We are pleased to inform you that your enhancement request has been delivered in the new release of IBM Social Program Management, version 8.0.0.
For more information about the user interface improvements in version 8.0.0, see the following section in the What's New Guide: User interface improvements
The following points highlight the improvements in this in the SPM V8.0.0 release and our continued commitment to ongoing iterative improvements in future releases.
- The font size of the input labels has reduced, which results in more content fitting on a page before scrolling is required. However, this may be somewhat negated by the labels-on-top layout (the optimal layout for speed and reducing eye fixations), which can result in increased form heights.
- Automatic distribution of content in lists makes better use of space for lists so more content (rows) fit before scrolling required.
- Dynamic sizing of modals to remove wrapping also contributes to less scrolling.
- Browser zoom has been improved to work with SPM so you can zoom out while you have a modal open and see more content without scrolling.
- Responsive height means that if you have a larger monitor you can increase the height of your browser window to take advantage of it and see more content without scrolling. With the responsive width, you can increase your browser width and you'll see less text wrapping, which in turn reduces content height and thus scrolling.
Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are now closing this request as delivered.
Regards,
Shane McFadden, SPM Offering Management team

Hi Michael,
We have evaluated your request and have the following feedback on the four issues you raised in relation to the V7 UI.
1) Double Scroll bars even when there is enough space to accommodate the screen content:
We have identified this issue as having an impact on the user experience and it is currently being worked on.
Therefore we acknowledge that this enhancement request has been accepted for consideration.
2) Large fonts causing wider content area and unnecessary spacing and scroll bars.
In V6 the size base font was set at 11px and in V7 it was increased to size 14px which is the industry standard that is recommended and in fact the industry standard is now pushing for size 16px. The design rationale for the increase in base font was to
enable better readability and to be in line with industry standards and recommendations.
With the increase in font size, padding and spacing and fixed heights were required to be added to ease the cognitive load on the user. This is in line with industry best practice and design standards.
In V6 we worked to condense content so as to keep everything above the fold and prevent scrolling. Modern UI standards recommend an emphasis on page legibility and hierarchy of content with scrolling being the common usage pattern.
Therefore the issues caused by the large fonts is not something we plan to address as the UI is working as designed.
3) Extra spacing b/w lines, margins, around buttons and other control items of application
The scale, weight and hierarchy of text was redesigned in V7 for screen readability and to be in line with industry best practices and IBM Design Language.
Therefore the spacing and padding issue you have raised is not something we plan to address as the UI is working as designed.
4) Unnecessary scrolls bars (vertical & horizontal) throughout
We have identified this issue as having an impact on the user experience and it is currently being worked on.
Therefore we acknowledge that this enhancement request has been accepted for consideration.
Based on the above evaluation of your requirements, I will accept this ticket so that you can be updated on progress on enhancement 1 & 4 however we will not be addressing enhancement 2 & 3 because as explained above, the UI here is working as designed.
Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.
