Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Require a more descriptive and informative Spinner to indicate when the application is busy

Problem:
The current spinner used in IEG is of an hourglass. The spinner is pale in colour and can be hard to see, if the application is busy.

Solution:
Provide a more distinct and informative spinner, which will be more visible to users of the application when the application is busy.

Background:
When the spinner is invoked, the application page becomes disabled, and the mouse is converted to an hourglass that spins.

'The current circle that spins is non-descriptive (it blends too much with the back ground) and it is easy to miss since there is a lot going on with the screen.'

The reason the customer is interested in the spinner, is they are working on an Integration Exercise between HCR and CGISS, and the data being loaded by a custom function may cause latency, and hence become un-usable.

The customer has suggested that rather than a spinner, we should do the following:
Since concern was raised that it may take time to load the data, a more pronounced pop up was recommended that allows a custom message to be displayed perhaps.

    Hi Dick,

We are happy to inform you that your enhancement has already been delivered in version 7.0.0.0 release of IBM Cúram Social Program Management released some time ago.

The new version of the product will provide visual feedback during application processing.

A progress indicator has been added to the application to signal to a user that the system has acknowledged an action and is currently busy. If the loading of content in any panel or modal dialog in the application takes longer than 2 seconds, a progress spinner will now appear.

The indicator is configurable using two properties in the ApplicationConfiguration.properties file:
curam.progress.widget.enabled: This property toggles the feature on/off. Default: true.
curam.progress.widget.threshold: This property specifies in milliseconds, the time offset before an indicator is displayed on the screen. Default: 2000 (2 seconds).

We hope that this addition to the product will meet your requirements sufficiently.

I will now close this ticket as delivered.

Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.
