Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

State of Missouri used Replace_superclass on AddressData to add new/modify existing ADDRESS_ELEMENTS. Even though Cúram offers ADDRESS_CONFIG in curam-config.xml, it does not allow for removal of ADDRESS_ELEMENTS for already established address layouts. The address elements are hard coded. Replacing the super class method allows us to remove ADDRESS_ELEMENTS which no longer exist or are not necessary. There is no mechanism which would allow to remove ADDRESS_ELEMENTS from an address definition

    Hi Maribeth,

We received another related enhancement request from you http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewChangeRequest&CR_ID=142972 with the headline summary 'A request is made to provide a more flexible address format API such that customers can select which fields to include.'

In this request, we have provided the address configuration guide that outlines how you can build it yourselves. While in the other related request you want a more flexible approach that allows tweaking the existing supported format.

I suggest we close this request and progress with the consideration of the other request.

Let me know if this is acceptable?

    Thank you,
Shane McFadden, Cúram SPM Product Management team

Hello. Following are comments from the developer:

It has been suggested that a custom address format could be defined, but this presents too great a burden for simple changes and would result in loss of existing OOTB functionality where the US address format is referenced in OOTB code unless a non-compliant customization is made to override the linking of the US address layout type to the custom US address format.

The ask in this RFE is to allow address formats via simple configuration rather than non-compliant customization.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Maribeth Kane

    Hi Maribeth,

We currently do not support removing elements from existing address formats.

Instead, customers should be creating their own address formats and how to achieve that is outlined in the two attached attachments (1 document outlining how to do it and 2 an associated sample project showing how it is done for a Belgium format).

Please evaluate these documents and let me know if this new information is sufficient for you to achieve your business requirements?

    Thank you,
