Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Access level restrictions on component artefacts

There are some classes and methods which are required to be used to achieve the business results. Curam currently exposes facade methods and not the corresponding SL methods as accessible. Many a time the API to be used is required to be used in the SL method of the custom component and from design perspective it doesnt  make sense to call the facade from SL layer.

The APIs need to be made accessible for the project to be sure not to have issues during future upgrades.

    Hi Gopichand,

We have evaluated your request and have determined that it cannot be implemented at this time as it is not something that we plan to address in-product.

We would agree that calling the Facade layer from the Service layer is not a good design practice however we have no plans to expose our Service Layer so in this instance we would advise refactoring the SPM ServiceLayer calls to the customer's Facade layer.

Your request may be resubmitted for consideration after 12 months from the date of decline.

Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.

The problem here is, the accessibility issues which are mentioned in this RFE prevent the OOTB service layer to be called directly from service layer of the customized application. Calling a facade from the service layer of the customized application is not a good design practice. This RFE is to make all the APIs listed in the attachment of the RFE accessible.

    Hi Gopichand,

In order to evaluate your request we require that you provide more information so that we can fully understand your requirements.

In the attachment you sent as part of this RFE we would like to know if all of these classes/methods are necessary and we also need a detailed business reason for each item you have listed. A reduced list would assist us in our evaluation of your request.

If we do not receive this information within 30 days, this request will be closed.

    Thank you,
Eloise O'Riordan, Cúram SPM Offering Management team
