Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Unclear validation messages for dates and date times

This is an issue with incorrect selectioning of leap year date - when we enter a date with invalid leap year( say 2/29/2006) the customer would want the application to throw a specific error stating it's not a leap yr and so the date is wrong instead of saying the date format is wrong.
Right now when we enter 2/29/2006 we get the following error message - "The field 'Date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY):' must be a date in the format 'M/d/yyyy'."
Can we provide a more specific message here?

Steps to Reproduce to follow:
Log in as superuser and try to register a person
Enter all the mandatory fields - on the date of birth field - give it as '2/29/2005' and try to save it
The error message states incorrect date format as below -
The field 'Date of Birth' must be a date in the format 'M/d/yyyy'.

"Given our OOTB date formatting/validation, the error message is a catch-all. But for something like 29/02/1970, which is not a leap year, and therefore an incorrect value, the error message is wrong as we are using a correct format of dd/mm/yyyy, just the value is not valid." We propose to enhance Cram date validation to have a more informative message/messages or if possible, have 2 different messages.
