Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Release Note items to include impact of the issues

From support case: WH00010614

This is more of a feedback about the structure and information provided in release note items.

Our testers highlighted an issue where they saw duplicated dates on calendar widget, see attached screenshot for April 5th showing twice as Sunday and Monday. We are aware that this issue was addressed as an iFix in 7.0.7 and subsequently in 7.0.9 versions.

We saw this issue in the release notes and considered as a very minor issue in the first look. But business impact could be much bigger here as the dates for days after duplicated day is pushed by a day. Say user wants to select the first Monday of the month, so they click on "the second April 5th", date widget inserts date as 05/04/2020 which is actually a Sunday. This issue may essentially lead users enter unintended/wrong dates into the application which then have a bigger overall impact depending on business feature, i.e. payments instructions, benefit setup etc.

Could we kindly ask IBM to include a brief and optional "Impact" description/section/analysis for the issues in the release notes? We really appreciate you include a optional "Technical" section in some of the release note items. The ask here would be similar to this.

    Hi Shane,

Thanks for your quick reply. We are particularly happy with your following statement:
"We will reiterate to our release note authors and reviewers to consider the additional emphasis on customer impact in the overall process".

We hope this will help increase the quality of release notes which will essentially help IBM and its customers to have more seamless/easier upgrades.

    Regards,
    Gokhan

    Hi Gokhan,

We have evaluated your request and have determined that it cannot be implemented at this time.

We always consider the customer impact when reviewing the release notes and call it out where necessary in the issue description and steps to reproduce and not in a separate section which could be interpreted differently by our many customers.
We also have the following statement in the release note guidelines for our release note authors:
"Additionally, assess the impact of this change for the customer - if we are introducing a change that can affect upgrading customers please contact an Architect and identify if we need to also document this change in Knowledge Center or Upgrade Helper Guide."

We will reiterate to our release note authors and reviewers to consider the additional emphasis on customer impact in the overall process.

Your request may be resubmitted for consideration after 12 months from the date of decline.

Thank you for your interest in the Cúram SPM product.

Thank you for your enhancement request.
We require some further analysis to determine whether or not this enhancement can be considered in a future release.
I will provide another response when our investigation is complete.

    Thank you,
