Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Include 'Rest' in build clean target

When the 'rest' target is executed it grabs the Rest.xml file from:

/components/Rest/resources/tomcat/context/

Within that file:

<Context path="Rest" reloadable="true" docBase="@docBaseLocation@" workDir="@docBaseLocation@/work" >
<Logger className="org.apache.catalina.logger.SystemOutLogger" verbosity="4" timestamp="true"/>
</Context>

...the script replaces token @docBaseLocation@ with whatever its set to for your environment...drive, folder, path etc. And then whatever Tomcat you have, uses the Rest.xml file.

So one thing I would ask for Curam scripts to do, part of the 'clean' step, is to remove the Rest.xml file from Tomcat. Then if a dev stream needs it, they should do the 'rest' target again.

    Hi Andrew,

    We are happy to inform you that your enhancement request has been delivered in the new release of IBM Cúram Social Program Management, version 7.0.8.0.

    In a development environment when the REST development application is built, a Rest.xml file is created in the development Tomcat directory. This file contains path details to the build location for the development stream.
    If the same Tomcat installation is used for multiple development streams, and if development is moved to a different development stream that does not require a build of the REST development application, the old Rest.xml file is still present in the Tomcat directory and still refers to the build location of the old development stream. The presence of the Rest.xml file can cause runtime issues when the same Tomcat installation is used for multiple development streams.
    The ant build script to clean the server build directory will now delete the Rest.xml file, if it exists, from the Tomcat directory. Prior to running this script, the CATALINA_HOME environment variable must be set to point to the Tomcat home directory.

    We hope that this addition to the product will meet your requirements sufficiently.

    I will now close this ticket as delivered.

    Thank you for your interest in the Cúram product.
