Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Support alternative container platforms other than OpenShift or IKS

Hi there Merative

We are looking at using Containers/Kubernetes and we are looking at the various potential solutions for our software ecosystem.

The current Merative supported container platform for Curam SPM is quite prescriptive with OpenShift supported and IBM IKS. Prerequisite software Prerequisite software (

This is a little bit limiting as Curam/SPM is one of our key applications, so our potential choices of solutions are realistically just IKS and Openshift.

It negates many fantastic alternatives for us such as:-

  • Vmware Tanuz

  • Rancher

  • Mirantis

  • AKS

  • EKS

  • etc

So the questions or requests are:-

Is there any flexibility in the support/contract to go with a non IKS/OpenShift container platform and still receive support if we do not use IKS or OpenShift? IE potentially increase support cost to cover other container providers.

Is there going to be a change in the future roadmap around the support statement for other container platforms?

Im assuming this is all tied to WebSphere liberty requirement as well.

Persona Based Summary

As an Infrastructure Architect I want to be able to choose alternative container platforms so I can provide the correct platform for my organisation.

This will help with organisations that may not want to use IKS or OpenShift.

CURAM:Workarounds + Proposed Solution

  1. We are currently not using Curam with Containers; however we are looking at future Curam container-based deployments.

Proposed Solution

2. Provide full customer support for alternative container platforms

3. Provide roadmap for future supported configurations and rationale (assuming there is any leeway).

    Hi Simon,

We have reviewed your enhancement suggestion. Based on the information provided, our understanding of your request is as follows:

You are requesting that SPM support additional container platforms (e.g. AKS) to the ones supported currently.

The theme is aligned with our current strategy for our product to continue SPM's cloud journey and support our customers as they move to the cloud and we have accepted your suggestion as a consideration for a future release.

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are committed to involving our users in building our product roadmap and appreciate your suggestions.
