Merative Ideas Portal

Shape the future of Merative!

We invite you to shape the future of Merative, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the Merative team to refine your idea

Help Merative prioritize your ideas and requests

The Merative team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at Merative works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at Merative, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Support the browser (JSON) and/or Web Services binding models for the CMIS 1.1 standard

We are using a CMS solution for integrating SPM with Doc and Records Management.

The CMS solution team has confirmed that they do not certify Content Server with CMIS 1.1 and AtomPub bindings. The CMS Solution supports CMIS 1.1 with the Web Services and/or browser (JSON) binding models.

The existing documentation is not clear as to what CMIS binding models are supported or unsupported.

This is a request to Cúram SPM to the browser (JSON) and/or Web Services binding models for the CMIS 1.1 standard.

Please let us know if you need any further information.

Customer Name ESDC
Persona Based Summary

As a SPMP caseworker, I want to seamlessly store documents as attachments against a Person or Case in a robust Enterprise Content management system

Market Segment Eligibility & Entitlement
Type of Request Idea
Market Opportunity

It’s really for Merative to determine their own market opportunity not us as a customer.

Usage frequency + #/type of users impacted

For every document that is stored as an attachment in Curam / CMS. This has a very large volume and frequency.

CURAM:Workarounds + Proposed Solution

The theoretical workaround would be to implement a ‘CMIS bridge’ to translate calls between Atompub and the CMS supported bindings. The bridge is yet another translation in the integration between Cúram and the CMS. There are already translations between the Cúram application domain model to CMIS domain model and then to the CMS model. Translating bindings via a CMIS bridge adds even more overhead to support CMS interoperability. There is a question as to whether this extra overhead negates the advantage of the CMIS standard and whether direct integration maybe preferable to what is becoming an overly complicated integration process. These complications start to negate the value of CMIS provided adapter.

The proposed solution would be for Cúram to implement the OpenCMIS CMIS binding model for browser (JSON) and/or Web Services.

    Hi Nigel,

We are pleased to inform you that your enhancement request has been delivered in the new release of Merative Social Program Management, version 8.0.3 on 2nd Feb 2023.

Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) integration has been enhanced to support the use of the browser binding model when configuring Content Management System (CMS) service setting for a CMS target system.

This feature provides an additional option when integrating SPM with a CMS that is not certified with the AtomPub binding.

For more detailed information on this new capability, please visit Merative Social Program Management Support Docs. https://curam-spm-devops.github.io/wh-support-docs/spm/announcements

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us. We are now closing this request as delivered.

    Regards,

Sheryl Brenton, SPM Product Management Team
